Membership Application
New 2009 Candidates and Active Members

CANDIDATE FOR MEMBERSHIP
Eligibility
- Satisfactorily completed approved formal training as outlined by the American Board of Plastic Surgery.
- Resided and have been engaged in practice for a minimum of one (1) year in the same location in the Southeastern geographical areas as outlined in these Bylaws.
- A current appointment on the surgical staff of a hospital in that area.
- Indicated a desire to join the Society.
Application Requirements:
- Completed application form (obtained from SESPRS Offices)
- Application fee of $25
- Sponsor letter of recommendation (must be an Active or Life Member residing in the candidate=s immediate geographical area of practice)
- 2 additional letters of recommendation (only 1 letter may be from an associate)
The application deadline is January 1 of each year. Applications are only reviewed one time per year. Call SESPRS to have an application mailed to you.
ACTIVE MEMBER
- Documentation of certification by the American Board of Plastic Surgery
- Served as a Candidate for Membership for a minimum of one year
- Attended one Annual Meeting of the Society as a Candidate for Membership (Attendance at the meeting during which the applicant was approved by the membership for Candidate for Membership shall serve to meet this requirement).
CANDIDATE FOR ASSOCIATE MEMBERSHIP
Eligibility:
- Considered in special circumstances for plastic surgeons who do not qualify for certification by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and therefore cannot meet all the requirements for active, life, or honorary membership
- Resided and have been engaged in practice for a minimum of one (1) year in the same location in the Southeastern geographical areas as outlined in these Bylaws
- A current appointment on the surgical staff of a hospital in that area
- Indicated a desire to join the Society

ASSOCIATE MEMBER
- ·Served as a Candidate for Associate Membership for a minimum of one year
- Attended one Annual Meeting of the Society as a Candidate for Associate Membership (Attendance at the meeting during which the applicant was approved by the membership for Candidate for Associate Membership shall serve to meet this requirement).
LIFE MEMBER
- Active Members who have attained the age of 65, having been an Active Member of the Society for at least 25 years, or voluntary retirement from active practice after 10 years of Active Membership in the Society, or permanent disability.
